IMPORTANT: Florida is a closed primary election state. Only voters who are registered members of political parties may vote for respective party candidates or nominees for an office in a Primary Election including a Presidential Preference Primary Election. All registered voters, regardless of party affiliation, may vote on issues and nonpartisan races during a Primary Election. Voters can change their party affiliation by submitting an updated Voter Registration Application at any time, but the change must be made 29 days before a Primary Election to be effective for that election. At a General Election, all registered voters receive the same ballot and may vote for any candidate or question on the ballot.
